Hi, friends! Today I have a new subscription box to share with you today. They're relatively new, but they've been getting some recognition on beauty blogs recently. You might have heard of them. Luxe Pineapple, anyone? I'm excited to share my first box with you! Let's unpack it together, shall we?
LuxePineapple? What's that?
LuxePineapple is a relatively new company, just started in 2013, that has reinvented the subscription box. They refer to their Box of Joy as an "unsubscription box." If you're familiar with MemeBox, they offer a similar service in that, rather than paying a monthly fee, you can purchase pre-curated boxes to be delivered to you. The boxes are usually a great discount, compared to the retail value of all the products put together. Recently, they've had boxes with themes like "Lip Luxuries," "Beach Babe," and "Small Luxuries." Many of the products featured in these boxes can also be bought individually in their Pineapple Shop, but the discount for the products isn't as steep as it is in the boxes. They release new boxes around three times a month, their most recent one being their Rock Pop & Wow GlossaryBox, which is the one I will be reviewing for you today. I'm super excited that Leslie Chapman of Pop Goes The City is the curator for this box! It includes on-trend beauty picks for the upcoming season that all go together well. Right now it's on sale for $15 on Luxe Pineapple's website.
If you decide to purchase anything, I would really appreciate it if you used my referral link! You'll get money off your order if you use it, so everybody wins!
Each Box of Joy comes packaged in a cute pink chevron box wrapped up with a bow. How adorable!
I just really think this quote card is pretty. I'd love to ask their photographer how they blurred out the background so much!
Yes! LuxePineapple is already ahead of Ipsy with an included info card! It's not as well formatted as Birchbox's but it's still much appreciated.
TRUST FUND BEAUTY | Rich Bitch ($15)
I received one of these quirky-named nail polishes in my August Ipsy Bag, too. This brand just launched in 2014 to "bring out the rich bitch in everyone." I love it! These nail polishes are vegan, cruelty-free, and 5-free, meaning they don't contain formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, camphor, and formaldehyde resin. It's believed that these chemicals are possibly dangerous, so many brands are starting to formulate polishes without these ingredients.
I haven't tried this particular brand yet, but I really get a kick out of what they name their nail polish shades. If you get a chance, I highly recommend you go to the Trust Fund Beauty website and browse through their nail polishes. Some of my favorite names are "Bitch, Please" and "Resting Bitch Face." Imagine someone asking what you have on your nails and you respond "Bitch, Please." Just imagine that for me.

CROWN BRUSH | Syntho Series Chisel Shadow ($8.68) and Deluxe Blending Brush ($9.65)
These are also super soft, so I'm pumped to use them. We have a flat shader brush and more of a fluffier blending brush here, so this is gonna be great.
CROWN BRUSH | Eyeshadow Trio in Barbados ($11.50)
CROWN BRUSH | Eyeshadow Trio in Barbados ($11.50)
This is one of those good-to-have neutral trios. They're soft and pigmented, which is awesome, especially since the price isn't bad. I actually wore these eyeshadows to work the other day and my coworker immediately complimented me on my makeup. I'm considering it a win. (Maybe I should just wear makeup to work more often? But that's irrelevant).
GARLAND BEAUTY PRODUCTS | La Charme Eyelashes in #E66 ($3)
I never wear false eyelashes, so I can't really remark on the quality of these. On Garland's website, you can only order them by the dozen by downloading a form online, so if you like them a lot, it might be kind of annoying to buy more. I'm estimating the price of these at $3 based on other online retailers of them.
The Stats:
- Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish: $15
- Crown Brush Flat Shader Brush: $8.68
- Crown Brush Blending Brush: $9.65
- Crown Brush Eyeshadow Trio: $11.50
- La Charme Eyelashes: $3
- TOTAL: $47.83
I'm a little confused about this, since LuxePineapple's website says the total retail value is $32. Maybe things were cheaper for them if they bought in bulk? Hmm...
The Best:
I'm really happy with all of the Crown Brush stuff!
The Worst:
I never really wear false eyelashes, so they're a waste for me.
The Verdict:
This box was a lot of fun! I really like the idea of knowing what you're going to get before you buy, and that all of these products were curated to go together for one look. Would I repurchase? I'd like to! I think the idea is something cool and different, and I'll definitely keep my eyes open as they release new boxes. If there's a box that I think I'll like, I'll pick it up for sure!
