1. Name a beauty regimen you rarely do.
Paint my fingernails! I wish I could polish them more, but I've worked as a scenic artist for the past four years painting sets (for theatre), so it's kind of pointless. My manicure inevitably gets covered with actual paint! My toes are always painted, though (occasionally those will get covered with paint, too).
2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
Yes! As someone with acne-prone skin, germs are not my friend, so I wash them once a week religiously. The only time I'll stretch that a few days is when it comes to eyeshadow brushes, since if I just wore a light color on the lid one time, it won't interfere with any other colors (or give me acne.....ew, imagine eye acne?).
3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
When I do get to paint my nails, that polish is on there until it's basically gone. Plus, no one will see it anyway, since it'll probably be covered in stage paint. ;)
4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?
For makeup, I can wait as long as I have to, but I cannot go without some sort of face cleanser and moisturizer. I can handle not wearing makeup, but I can't stand a dirty or dry face! It never comes to that, though--I'm usually pretty on top of making sure my stash is well-stocked.
5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Besides not painting my nails? I would say switching up my skincare routine so often. It's the beauty blogger's curse--I always want to try new things, so I hardly ever purchase the same product twice!
6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time.
Cleaning regularly. Whether it was my dorm room, my apartment, anywhere--I don't like it. I will cook, I will do laundry, I will do anything else but clean. When it gets to a certain point, I will begrudgingly do it, but only if no one else will first. It's just so annoying! The only thing I absolutely cannot stand is cooking on a dirty stove, so I always make sure that's clean.
7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready for the last minute?
It depends. We usually go out right after work, so most nights I barely have time to change out of my work clothes (and sometimes I don't even do that), but if I'm going some place special like a formal event and have the luxury of time, then yes.
8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I'm pretty frugal (gotta love post-college living amirite ladies) so I'm basically always on a spending ban. Maybe if/when I'm making more money, this would be an issue, but not right now. I get my beauty subscriptions and that's pretty much it.
9. How organized is your makeup and nail polish collection?
Kind of a mess right now. My nail polish is all mixed together in one cosmetics bag, and my makeup is in a small white plastic drawer unit from Target. There's a drawer for face, one for eyes, and one for lips. I also have a spinning makeup unit from Lori Grenier that I switch out products for depending on the season, but right now that's empty since I left it at home in New York.
10. What is your most cherished beauty product?
I would have to say my Clarisonic Mia 2 (full review), if not for anything else than the fact that it was a gift from my mom, and it's the most pricey beauty thing I own. It saved my skn, so thanks, Mom!
