Hi, friends! While I was looking back on my blog, I realized I haven't done an Empties post since August! Crazy, right? In the College Beauty Buff Reader Survey back in December, you guys said that Empties posts were your favorite thing, so let's do one today! Right here, right now!
Since I've had these products on my Products I've Used Up list for awhile, I figured we'd separate it into Makeup and Hair this month, and Skincare / Body Care next month! But enough about that, let's just get into it.
DR. JART+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 ($39 for 1.5oz)
This BB cream has been my jam for two years now! It was most recently shown in my 2014 Face Makeup Favorites, but I've been using it for awhile. I have used up another sample size of this Premium variety, though I've liked all of the Dr. Jart+ BB creams I've tried so far. I bit the bullet and bought the full-size not too long ago, and right now I'm finishing up my sample of their Black Label BB cream that I received from my October Birchbox.
VASELINE Lip Therapy Original ($1.79 for .25oz)
This was featured on my Lip Balm Bonanza post forever ago, and I have to say I enjoyed using it! It lasted me quite awhile (as tubs of Vaseline often do, though this was smaller). I would definitely repurchase this to continue using it as my nighttime lip balm--once I finish up what I have in my stash, that is.
IT COSMETICS Tightline Full Lash Length Black Mascara Primer ($24 for .118oz)
I just finished this up a few weeks ago (see my full review). This mascara/primer has about a third of the amount of product that usual mascaras have, so I wasn't surprised that I used it up as quickly as I did. It usually takes me at least six months for me to finish a mascara, but I was happy I was able to use all of this before it dried out. I would purchase this again, if money wasn't a factor. Being that it costs more than I typically spend on mascara, and it has so little product in there, I'm kind of hesitant. Plus, there are so many good mascaras at the drugstore. We shall see...
DOVE Oxygen Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner ($5 each for 12oz)
I received these from a site called PINCHme which basically gives you free samples "just 'cause." Anyone can get samples, whether you have a blog or not. I don't really know what's in it for them, but I don't really care. The only reason I can think of for them giving stuff away is to advertise the products, which works for me. Anyway, these are pretty average products. They get the job done, but I didn't notice that my hair was more hydrated than it is when I use other shampoos and conditioners. Though, this advertises to be for fine hair, which mine is not, so perhaps that has something to do with it. I like Dove's body washes, but so far I'm not a huge advocate for their hair products.
COOLWAY Cool Cleanse & Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner ($20 each for 8.6oz)
I received these in May's Beauty Box Five, and finally got around to using them in time for my September Favorites. I really liked these! I go in and out of sulfate-free phases with my hair care, depending on what I have lying around. I think these are pretty affordable, compared to other "high-end" haircare. I'm pretty frugral, so I'll probably continue to use inexpensive shampoo from the drugstore or discount stores. But if I saw these in a Marshall's or TJ Maxx, I would definitely pick them up!

Number 4 Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner ($34 each for 8.5oz)
This was the other duo in my September sulfate-free kick (also received in a May subscription box). I found these to be a little more hydrating than the Coolway, but they're also almost double the price, so there's that. I wish I'd gotten more of the conditioner to really compare, but I had enough for a use or two to see if I liked it. Again, I would never pay $34 each for shampoo/conditioner, but I'd be happy to get these discounted at a Marshall's/TJ Maxx, or perhaps during a sale in the Birchbox shop.

Disclaimer: I purchased all of these with my own money, except for the Dove shampoo and conditioner that I got from PINCHme. Not affiliated with any mentioned brands. Not sponsored. tbh i've never seen a sponsored empties post, like "My trash, sponsored by Glad bags." i really want to be yolo, inc and i'm really sad it's already a thing.
