Sammi's Mani: Nicole by OPI Blue Lace + Jamberry Flirty Flair

Hi, friends! Today is a "Sammi's Mani" kind of day, which is basically a NotD (or "Nail of the Day" for those of you unfamiliar with the term) but it rhymes. You may have seen a sneak peek of this on my Instagram, but here is the real deal! This is going to be all about the manicure I'm rocking right now, as well as a mini review of all the products I used.

Let's get started!

I started off with Sally Hansen Double Duty ($4 for .45 fl oz) as my base coat, for every nail except my pinkies. Works like a charm. I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase, because it works, it's affordable, and I have no complaints.

Then, I went ahead and applied two coats of Nicole by OPI's Blue Lace ($7 for .5 fl oz). I LOVE the color of this! It's a beautiful blue-green duochrome that shifts in the light. I did a whole post on this polish if you're interested in more information or want to see more swatches.

The brush was a little skinnier than I prefer (I love the beefy Revlon Colorstay brush--it's so fat and it makes for easier application) but it worked out fine. The formulation is pretty good. There was a little bit of bubbling for me, but I used it right after I shook the bottle so that's my own fault. I really didn't have a problem with it, for the most part.

After that dried (enough--I'm impatient), I topped it all off with a coat of Sally Hansen's Super Shine Top Coat ($4 for .45 fl oz). I've been using Sally Hansen base and top coats for years, and I can't really think of anything bad about them. I might switch to something that will help my nails dry faster, though, because I always seem to mess up at least one finger after I paint my nails! It's like all of a sudden, as soon as I'm done painting them, I find that I have a billion and one things to do. Plus, who has time to just sit there and wait for her nails to dry? Ain't nobody got time for that.

After all my other nails dried, I cut my Jamberry Nail Wrap in Flirty Flair in half and applied them to my pinkies. A few of my beauty blogger friends and I have been having a Facebook party/gathering and learning all about the Jamberry brand. One of the hosts, Darcy, sent me a sample to use as an accent nail to try out. It wasn't wide enough for my ring fingers, but it fit great on my pinkies! It was my first time using any kind of nail wrap, and these are especially different since these are vinyl, not nail polish. It wasn't tricky at all, and I'm excited to see how the wear on these compares to regular nail polish!

I'm really loving this look I did! It reminds me of spring-into-summer, with the floral nail wrap and then the oceanic blue-green color on the rest of my nails. It makes me pretty happy just to look at it, honestly. It's been so long since I've been able to put any real effort into a manicure! Working in a scene shop is fun, but often I forgot how much fun it is to give myself a mani, too!

What are you rocking on your nails right now?
