Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Wantable? What's that? - Wantable is a company that offers multiple subscription services, including Makeup, Accessories, and even Intimates. Each Makeup box contains 4-5 full-sized products, picked based on the specific survey you fill out. You can subscribe for $36/month or $40 for a single box. You can click here to sign up. (This is an affiliate link. I signed up to be an affiliate after I received my box, because I liked it that much)
One of the main things that Wantable prides itself on is how well it caters to your preferences. You take an in-depth survey when you sign up. You go through a huge list of products, and then sub-lists of products (ex. eyeshadow --> cream eyeshadow, powder eyeshadow, etc.) and mark everything as Love, Like, or Dislike, and they promise you'll never receive any products on your Dislikes list.
Love: Eyeliner, Lip Color, Lash Product, Eye Shadow, Tools, Fair (shade).
Like: Brows, Blush, Highlighter, Nail Polish, Bronzer, Complexion Products.
It's kind of like if Ipsy and Birchbox had a baby--I got a mix of items that I know I'll use (Birchbox), but at full-sizes (Ipsy). It's like the best of both worlds!
Let's move on to the contents of my box, shall we?
Starlooks Kohl Eye Pencil in Obsidian ($12)
Girlactik Beauty Eye Shadow in Ivy ($19)
I've never heard of this brand, but when I swatched this eyeshadow, it was pigmented and smooth. This is sort of a satin, light olive green that's perfect for fall. It's basically winter now, but I'm happy to have this in my stash since I don't really have anything this color. The closest I have is my Revlon Colorstay Smoky Shadow Stick in Atomic, which I bought at CVS' Winter Beauty Sale. Did you get anything at the sale? Let me know what deals you got in the comments!
Michael Marcus Lipstick in Debbie ($24)
Whip Hand Cosmetics Lip Hit Long Wear Lip Veneer in Crave ($20)
This lipgloss/lipstick hybrid gave me quite a bit of trouble, but once I got it working, it was a pigmented and smooth. The idea behind it is that it can slide on like a lip gloss but pigmented like a lipstick. It took me an eternity to twist this up enough to get the lip product to come out, but once it did, I had a little less trouble. Instead of a brush tip, this tube has a strange rubber-like spatula to disperse the product, which I wasn't a fan of, and felt I still had to battle a bit to release the product. The color is a really pretty medium-pink, but it took a little more effort than I felt it deserved to get the product out. Still, I have a full-size to play around with, so many after some finagling, it'll be easier to work with.
This was a beauty extra, so it didn't count towards my "4-5 full-sized beauty products." I thought it was interesting that they gave me a wrinkle product, since I'm only 20 years old, but when I looked at my profile, I realized that I never filled in my birthday. It's only an extra, so it doesn't necessarily pertain to my beauty survey, but maybe if I filled in my age I would have received something else. I don't know for sure, but I don't really mind. I just put this on my Pinterest Swap Board. Let me know if you want to swap for something!
- Starlooks Eye Pencil - $12
- Girlactik Beauty Eye Shadow - $19
- Michael Marcus Lipstick - $24
- Whip Hand Cosmetics Lip Veneer - $20
- Skiin Instant Skin Tightener and Line Filler - $0
I absolutely loved this box, and I know that I'll get use out of everything (except maybe not the Lip Veneer as much, but 3/4 ain't bad). I'm happy to have full-sizes of products I know I'll use! The $40/month isn't in my budget right now, but I may ask for a few months' subscription for Christmas, because I really liked how well this box was matched to my preferences. I think Wantable goes above-and-beyond in choosing products that you'll like, because boxes like Birchbox and Ipsy are great, but for $10 there isn't too much that can be done.
What do you think of Wantable? Would you consider getting a box?
