Review: MAC Lipglass in Gitane

Hello, everyone! Today I’d like to show you a lipgloss in my collection that I’m excited to be pulling out for fall: MAC’s Lipglass in Gitane.

Like all of MAC’s Lipglasses, this wand has a doe-foot applicator. Doe-foot applicators are actually my favorite kind, since unlike brushes and squeeze tubes—which can be too messy for me—doe-foot applicators offer plenty of control and precision, which tends to come in handy with more pigmented colors like this one.

This is a beautiful, almost opaque, rust color that I find just perfect for autumn. I found it to be too dark for summer, so I’m excited to be wearing it again. Like most of MAC’s Lipglasses, this is on the stickier side, but it’s not too bad. If you highly detest sticky lipglosses, I would stay away from this one, but they’re not as sticky as Stila’s Lip Glazes. I don’t tend to mind them, but it depends on my mood, really.

This is a sample size that I received in a set, but a full-sized MAC Lipglass is 4.8g and retails for $15 on MAC’s website. The color, Gitane, unfortunately was limited edition, but I have a dupe! MAC’s Lustreglass in Ornamental is almost identical. The only real difference is that it is a little more on the brown side, and that MAC’s Lustreglasses have a brush applicator instead of a doe-foot wand. Personally, I'm not too incredibly picky with my lipglosses, so I normally wouldn't spend $15 on one, but it's still a very nice lip gloss if it's in your budget!

What is your favorite lip product for fall?
